The Apple x Rene Magritte
Reimagined from “The Son of Man,” 1964. Private Collection.
This painting was said to have been intended to be a self-portrait of Rene Magritte. I think The Son of Man is the definition of a surrealist painting, which is made up of the desire to see the hidden. Surrealism expands upon our human experience—our ability to think, to function, and to feel, and The Apple does just that. An apple is usually associated with the the mind and the ability to learn and express. I can see this painting being a perfect fit for an executive with an office that has floor to ceiling windows. I see The Apple being apart of their groundbreaking ideas from day to day.
